Breda, Netherlands — On September 24th, Rick Delaney, President and Founder of Liquor Zaar B.V., was notified that the O.J. Beer Signature Pilsener had won a tender with Systembolaget, the Swedish alcohol retail management system, choosing O.J. Pilsener as the Belgian import for this category. Systembolaget is a government owned chain of liquor stores in Sweden and is the only authorised retail outlet permitted to sell alcoholic beverages with more than 3.5% alcohol by volume.
Winning the tender is a long and comprehensive process. Product samples for each request for tender are submitted and the final selection is made by a blind tasting panel of 30 individuals. The product that has the highest quality that corresponds to the tasting profile requested is the product launched.

O.J. Pilsener scored 23/25, a year’s high, even with 40 other, much larger, award-winning local and national breweries competing.
Systembolaget has a nationwide retail network of 445 stores and had over 124.8 million customers through its doors in 2018. The product range of wine, beer and spirits is one of the most comprehensive in the world.
O.J. Pilsener is a light bodied, crisp and bitter lager, with a dry, refreshing finish. This lager beer has an ABV of 5% and is a bottom-fermented beer, brewed according to the German Purity Law with only water, barley malt and hops. It’s a clear, golden coloured beer with a pure smell and aroma. O.J. Pilsener is available in 63 countries worldwide in 330ml bottles, and 500ml and 330ml can formats.
